Bibir ...
Ku mengucapkan
Perasaan hati
Yang silih berganti

Hati ...
Sering bertanya
Apakah benar
Ucapan kata

Walau bibir Melafas marah
Tetapi hati Merindu sayang

Andai hati Seiring kata
Terjalinlah cinta

Kini ...
Bibir dan hati
Membisik ucapan
Kaulah yang ku nanti

Kini bibir dan hati seiring
Hulurkan tanganmu
Hampirilah daku

Mari kita
Menuju bersama
Membinakan kasih
Marah-marah sayang

Getting Home

If the motherland were a river, I would be a fish swimming happily. If the motherland were a road, I would be a car moving forward happily. If the motherland were a tree, I would be a leaf waving in the breeze happily. (quote from Movie)

The film follows a migrant worker's adventure in carrying his friend's dead body home, as Chinese people believe that it is the ultimate misfortune if a person cannot be buried in his hometown after death. Old Zhao who works in a city far away from home. His friend Liu unfortunately dies, and Zhao decides to carry his corpse all the way home. On his way, Zhao meets various interesting people who, moved by his loyalty to his friend, give him a hand.

I feel life is unpredictable, consisting of ups and downs. Sometimes you may be in high spirits, but at other times you can feel very low. Sometimes you may meet very good people, but don't forget villains do exist. Sometimes you may bound forward and run quickly, but you can be found staggering along one night.

After a dead leaf falls down, it is absorbed by the soil and a new plant will grow. The cycle of birth, growth and death repeats itself, like the river in the last scene. That's life huh...

No matter how feeble and helpless we may feel sometimes, human beings will still struggle with the environment and fate for an opportunity to live. Ahead of us are lots of things to experience, exciting and depressing. Nevertheless, because of pain, we know what pleasure is. That's just like the walking scenes in the movie. When the girls working in the field, cars, cow and bicycle pass by, we know how fast Old Zhao walks. Audience may pay attention to the symbolic meanings of different vehicles in the movie e.g. bicycles, coaches, carts, private cars, trucks, buses, etc. If we were doomed to the sufferings, what we are able to change would be the way in which we interpret them. Be positive and never give up!

The movie ends suddenly and the unfinished business may puzzle some members of the audience. However, I personally find it very meaningful and symbolic. The ending successfully upgrades this can-be-typical road movie to an abstract motto. "Life is a road comprising UPS and DOWNS. Do live each day happily as it comes and enjoy life to the full!" The ending also symbolically implies that human beings should not always emphasize the importance of results. Instead, we should pay attention to the process.

Those touching moments, black humor, superb acting and the meaningful ending make this road movie a unique and impressive one causing catharsis (release of emotional tension) if know wad i mean. I was moved to tears and laughter and people may ponder on the meaning of LIFE after watching this movie.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! (9.5/10 rating)

Orked is a upper-middle class working woman who married to a successful advertising executive Arif. Early one morning, Orked received news that her father had collapsed. This unfortunate event proves Arif to be caring husband who takes charge of the crisis while the rest of the family undergoes an emotional breakdown.

However, things take a turn when Orked discovers, by accident, that the seemingly reliable Arif may be seeing another woman behind her back. On the other side of town, in a relatively poorer housing area, a young Muslim cleric and his cheerful wife live next door to a couple of prostitutes.

Even though the loving couple is surprisingly non-judgmental of their neighbours, they soon find themselves embroiled in the dangers that come with the ladies 'way of life'. "Gubra" weaves back and forth from one story to the other. As the stories unfold, it becomes increasingly unclear that even though the two worlds are physically disconnected, the people who dwell in them share a similar struggle - that of dealing with all the pleasures, the pain, and the challenges that come with loving.

Overall, i feel both movies are great. Has got deep true meaning of love plus bits of comedy in it.

Sepet is a 2004 Malaysian romantic comedy drama film set in Malaysia. It tells a tale of a love that blooms between a Chinese boy and a Malay girl. Sepet is a Malay word which, in this context, refers to the 'slit eyes' of the Chinese.
It's about a 19-year old Ah Loong who is in charge of a stall selling pirated VCDs. Contrary to the stereotype of his social standing, Ah Loong, is an incurable romantic with an unlikely hobby - he loves to read and write poetry. Quite content to carry on being the Romeo of the slums, Ah Loong's life takes a sudden turn one day when a Malay schoolgirl, Orked, arrives at his stall. Love blossoms between Orked and Ah Loong, although there are social and racial pressures that stand in their way. In the end, Ah Loong is involved in a motor vehicle accident while Orked is going to England to pursue her studies. It is not clear if he lived or died until the sequel, Gubra.
It has already made its way to the 18th Tokyo International Film Festival 2005 where it was nominated for Best Asian Film.
I'm off to watch Gubra.

Life has been good to me these past few days:

Operational Planning & Control exam is left too with god knows what, ought to check my schedule. Hope this sem, all is well, with my gpa increasing naturally. Woots!!

- Beth and i are being better off. Only occasional quarrel due to our misunderstandings. I just don't understand how people can jump to conclusions, and the truth is im not a liar. In fact, i've never lied to you about anything. But everything's fine and I feel much closer to her now.

- Lots of special events coming right up, ok maybe two. Valentine's Day which is special for me this year to celebrate with someone special. And CNY, not looking forward to it that much afterall i dun celebrate. hah!
